Dear Fellow Code Professional:
As the end of another year approaches for Code Enforcement Officials of Southern Illinois, it seems an appropriate occasion to reflect on the past year, and perhaps more importantly, to look forward to the future. In what was an unquestionably challenging year for all of us, CEOSI did enjoy a number of successes. Of the many accomplishments that were made, a few instantly come to mind: We have re-established a web presence, after a long absence, with the launch of a freshly-designed CEO website (www.ceosi.org), we approved several bylaw changes which were designed to encourage greater involvement by all members, and as we do every year, we sponsored some great, helpful, relevant, and low-cost training for the code enforcement community in downstate Illinois.
The upcoming year promises to be extraordinarily eventful for CEOSI, as we make plans to mark the milestone of 20 years as an organization! We are very fortunate to have several charter members who remain very active in our organization, and who were there at the inception, back in 1993, when then BOCA Chapter #68 was formed. That legacy of commitment to safety in the built environment, which formed the foundation of our organization, has been honorably and untiringly carried forward by all who have followed, and all of us – from the founders to those of us relatively new to the profession and to the organization - can be very proud of the mission that CEO serves and of what the association has grown to become.
We would not have this achievement to celebrate, nor could we look forward to the future as we do with great optimism, were it not for the contributions of each of the individual members who make up the Code Enforcement Officials of Southern Illinois. In order to build on the momentum of the past twenty years, the involvement of all code professionals in southern Illinois is imperative. Included with this letter is the annual membership renewal. In order for us to maintain a current listing, we ask that you complete and return the form, along with the renewal fee, prior to May 1st.
In closing, I would like to extend my heartfelt appreciation for your involvement, participation, and contributions to CEOSI over the past two years that I have been president. I hope that you have found, as I have, our network of fellow code enforcement professionals to be an indispensible resource to you and the community you serve, and I look forward to our opportunities to work and learn together in the upcoming year.
Best regards,
Michael Seaver, C.B.O.
President CEOSI
